Terms of service

The deal, in plain words

Last updated

These terms are the agreement between you and Stenite AB, Sweden, for using QuietAlbum. They are written to be read. Your rights as a consumer under Swedish and EU law always apply on top of them and nothing here takes those away.

What QuietAlbum is

A private, invite-only album: posts with photos, videos, audio clips and text, shared with the members you choose, viewed in a browser. One person pays for an album; every member is free. How we handle your data is on the privacy page, which is part of these terms.

Paying for an album

  • Every album starts with a free trial. No card needed.
  • One yearly payment per album. The price, including VAT, is shown before you pay. Subscribing during the trial gets the first year at a discount.
  • Gifts: anyone with the album's gift link can buy it a fixed twelve months. A gift is not a subscription and does not renew.
  • Renewals are at the price current at the time. If it changes, you are told before your next renewal and can cancel.

Cancelling and refunds

  • Cancel any time from the album's billing page. The album stays fully usable until the end of the period you paid for; it does not renew.
  • 14-day right of withdrawal: within 14 days of a purchase or renewal you can ask for a full refund, no reason needed. Email us.
  • A fully refunded gift is cancelled and the album falls back to whatever it had before.
  • If a renewal payment fails, the album keeps working for 14 days while you fix the card. After that it becomes read-only until it is paid again.

When a subscription ends

Nothing is deleted. The album becomes read-only: every member can still view and export everything, nobody can add. It stays that way for at least twelve months. If it is still unpaid after that, we email every member several times, starting at least 30 days before, and then delete it. Subscribe again at any point and the album wakes up as it was.

Your content

Everything you upload stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, make smaller copies for display, and show it to the album's members. That permission ends when the content is deleted. We never use your content for anything else, as the privacy page spells out.

What we ask of you

  • You are 18 or older and responsible for the account under your email address.
  • You have the right to post what you post, including photos of other people. For children in your care that is your call; for other adults, ask them.
  • Nothing illegal, and nothing that harms the people in an album. If you see something wrong in an album you belong to, tell the album's admin or us.
  • Invite links open your album to whoever holds them. Share them the way you would share a house key.
  • Do not try to reach content you were not invited to, or to overload the service.

If an account breaks these rules we may remove the content or close the account. Unless the law forbids it, we give notice and time to export first.

Who can do what in an album

Admins run an album: members, roles, settings, subscription, deletion. Contributors post and comment. Viewers view, comment and react. Every member can export the whole album. Deleting an album is an admin's decision; every member is warned and has 30 days to export before it is final.

What you can expect from us

We keep the service running, keep your content safe as described on the privacy page, and tell you ahead of time about changes that matter. We do not guarantee that the service is never interrupted - it is run by a small company - and we ask you to keep your own export of anything irreplaceable. To the extent Swedish consumer law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the last twelve months. Nothing here limits liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or anything the law says cannot be limited.

Changes to these terms

If we change something that affects you, we tell you before it takes effect, in the app or by email, and you can cancel and export before then if you do not agree. Small edits just move the date at the top of this page.

Law and disputes

Swedish law applies. If we cannot sort something out by email, consumers in Sweden can turn to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN), and consumers elsewhere in the EU to their national body or the courts of their home country.
